Well I mostly tied them up because I've gone down the rabbit hole of tying and can't seem to stop... however I would have no problem swinging these midsized patterns on the S rivers or OP and be confident fishing them if I could see my boots from my knees standing in the river. I've caught winter fish and dolly's swinging standard sized Hobos, ESL's or similar under those kinds of conditions or cleaner. Personally I don't go to really big intruders unless I think I need to. I'm just a journeyman so take that into consideration.

Might I ask what types of winter conditions do you see that would make you tie one of these on, versus the larger intruder type options?? Or are you using these for very specific rivers/locations?

WA winter steel has not been kind to me, versus surrounding options where sometimes occasionally I feel like a competent fisherman.
Sorry, I replied but thought you were referring to the goblin variants not the skunks, my bad. I would fish them in cleaner water conditions when I was tired of throwing something bigger. In the winter I would likely fish slightly bigger leechy type stuff more often to be honest. They are of decent size though, tied on 1.5's, mostly I'm just out there hoping for the best and manage to hook some fish from time to time.
