Central Oregon Lake

I'll be visiting & fishing a "jewel" of a lake in south-central Oregon very near Crater Lake in early October with a few family members. Mostly gear fishing, but I'm hoping to break away with my float tube or just flyfish from the boat with the Gulp throwers. I'm curious if anyone has a recent report and perhaps can share some suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Fishing from a float tube, I would target the south east corner. You should be able to see large trout circling in less than 4 feet of water.

There is a great sandy put in that is easily accessed(red arrow).

Stripping a black or purple leech could be effective. Hope you have a great time!

Just an FYI, Brown and Tiger trout are catch and release only in this lake!

You could do worse than fish a couple of hundred yards off the creek in the SW corner, too. BUT! It's a 3/4 of a mile kick. Each way.

Thank for all the suggestions. We did this trip a couple years ago but later in the month and only got in one day before the snow and weather drove us off the lake. Hoping we'll get better conditions this time.
