Rear hackle - Brown - trimmed all around

Body - Closed cell foam - yellow, orange, green, tan, packaging foam etc.

Front body

Front hackle - Brown and Grizzly - trimmed on top

Legs - Round rubber legs

Wing - White hi-vis or similar

While I have the materials out might as well do some more Muddled Hare's Ears in sz. 12 1xl.

Usually a top dropper fly, but also a good trailing fly.

Those are nice but that top one hooked me already. Killer tie Tom
I think that version is going to become basic box filler, it just works. I have not found the palmer adds much. Adding legs and a gold tag instead of a tail for a daddy version of the top fly makes it a great late summer fly though, as this well eaten version attests.

Restocking the Pat's Rubberlegs that have been good for the short wing stones. Good all year in 10, and 8. Long legs slow sink rate and aid shallow edge skating. Trimming a bit it sinks faster.

Knuckle Dragger Jig​

Size 8 w/ 3.8mm bead. I'm beginning to think this will be as good a tool fly as my jigged hares ear. It's been good since the streams opened, and a very similar fly fished well for a skwalla.
