Here’s my rendition of @Matt B ’s killer pink fly from the “What catching you fish” thread.

IMG_4386.jpeg

I used a #2 TMC 811s and 5/32 Eyebalz. The only thing I think I did different is put the soft hackle in front of the eyes, (mostly just because I think I located the eyes to far back and it ended up working better in front on this one).

Thanks to Matt for a cool pattern!

Another neat caddis pattern, this one developed on the Henry’s Fork by Mike Lawson; here’s Charlie Craven’s version if you’re interested. Put a little wax on my fingertips and stroked the wings so they retained their shape during tying; not entirely successful but it did help.

Variation of the Splitsville Caddis, subbing indicator yarn for the Hacklestacker version; not a huge fan of CdC for floatation on most of the water I fish so I went with Congo Hair.

hook - WFC Model 3 #12
thread - Uni 8/0 camel
body - dubbing tan
indicator - Parapost yarn hot orange
underwing - Congo Hair shiner tan
wing - deer hair
thorax - Ice Dub hare’s ear tan

A fly for after dark hours, developed by Pennsylvania tyer George Harvey (pre mouse-fly craze). Can be fished wet or dry; don’t think I’d fish it with anything smaller than a 0x tippet. A number of different ways to tie it (for this one I just grabbed what was close by); here’s a decent SBS, if you’re interested.

hook - Dai Riki 730 #6
thread - Uni 6/0 olive dun
tail - pheasant neck feathers dyed olive
body - Ice Dub hare’s ear brown
hackle - brown
shoulder - hen black
pectoral fins - pheasant neck feathers dyed olive
collar - pheasant rump dyed olive
