Been fishing softhackle hare's ears since I found that damsel in my stream sample. These are on a mustad 3399A sz. 8. Old hooks have to be sharpened before use, but hold up to rock encounters and are fishing more weed free than a bead head. I swear the fish can see this fly as a multitude of different things.20230723_094508.jpg

Trying to envision this wet, wondering if I can use it as a hopper

Don’t worry Lou, you can fish my twisted up OBS and that fly will be spinning like a riffled bullet all the way in while stripping. At least 50 percent of the time the stinger will be perfectly positioned.
Sort of like Schroedinger's... clouser... I like it! Is the hook up or down? We can assume it's both!
