Anafroptilum bifurcatum nymphs are abundant in the Russian River from April to late September and there are two emergences of adults, one in late April through May and the other in September through October. Length is about 4.5 mm for mature nymphs, excluding tails and antennae. Generally found in shallow areas on the edges of riffles or glides.
