I’ve done well for shallows in CA with slumpbusters and meat whistle flies. Finding the right retrieve is important, depending on their mood and water temp.

On the hunt for an Echo OHS 7wt rod if you have one to sell. Heading back to AK in the fall and want to try it out there.

I'm looking for the Cortland 444 Clear camo intermediate fly line in a 5wt if you have one you're not using.

I use both the Veevus GSP and Semperfli Nano silk. Both are good and even the small size 50d will work well for spinning hair. I prefer the nanosilk, have had several spools of Veevus where the thread separates and somehow gets trapped int he spool, basically ruining it.
