Does that include welfare for the richest, such as
No more tax welfare for Amazon and all the other mega-corps not paying their fair share of taxes?
No more offshore accounts the rich use to shelter income and gains from taxes?
No more carried interest deduction compensation paid to investment executives in private equity, hedge fund and venture capital management so they can avoid paying yearly income tax on profits?
Or are we just going to put an end to welfare for the poorest?
As it is, if the top 1% just paid their taxes, it would completely cover welfare.

I mean, I hate to have to call out anyone for being a typical anything, but here you are bitching about something that you want us to believe you have a plethora of knowledge about; you're given a genuine chance to share your ideas, but you only offer a cop out when asked about your original thoughts on the subject. Kind of reminds me on that facet of American wannabe-in-chargers who want to abolish the IRS but offer no other ways to pay for our military. And that's just the most recent example of what's become a no-alternative M.O.

Okay folks....

This thread is really starting to wander close to "Let's have a political argument and piss on each other" territory. Which as we all know, is not what PNWFF is for. Lots of good perspectives have been posted on the homelessness issue. But I'm not sure we're covering any new ground at this point after 14 pages. Feel free to PM each other and continue to debate if you wish. Or take it to Twitter, I hear they love that stuff over there.

I genuinely appreciate everyone's efforts to stay civil and we have mostly done that very well. But the longer these threads go, the more likely we are to get down to being monkeys throwing poop at each other. So I'm going to drop the curtain on this one.

Tie some flies, plan your next fishing trip, bundle up and get some winter river time, write a letter to your mom/child/sibling, do a unexpected favor for a neighbor. Those are the things you'll wish you'd done more of on your deathbed. Not argue on the internet.
