Let's have a thread of what we're looking forward to as far as fishing/outdoor adventures this year.

Trips you are taking, species you're after, flies you want to tie, places you get to camp. Whatever is getting you stoked now that we've turned the calendar to 2023.

I'm looking forward to trying to get more bass on the fly (thanks to watching @Billy catch monsters). Also pretty excited about getting a foot controlled bow mount trolling motor installed in my little boat. And while it's not really "fishing" I think I'm going to try and tag along on some steelhead redd counting data-collection adventures on the Skagit.

Don't know what trips I'll take. Hoping to figure out where I can catch some little wild trout with my nephew in NW Oregon. With any luck, the three of us who run PNWFF will be able to convene for a fishing adventure somewhere (hopefully for bass with Billy, like @Evan B mentions). And I'd like to get back up to BC a few times and fish around Whistler/Squamish/Pemberton again.
 
musky musky musky....would love to book a trip in Wisconsin this year, but that's currently on the outside looking in.

probably do a bunch of bass fishing and a tiny bit of trout fishing (that's more of a winter thing for me since it's so much better). carping....

maybe having @Evan B let me net a tiger musky for him....

We bumped out Baja trip to June, so I should be able to squeeze in a few days there in between hanging out on the beach with the family.
 
Now through April is all about winter steelhead for me, on the coast and the Skagit. That is unless I finally get my act together and chase some local SRC when those chum babies migrate in March. I'm planning to go hiking in Utah in May again, and while I'm there I may look for a desert trout again. Then mid to late May is lake fishing in north central or NE WA. There might also be a spring Chinook in that April - May timeframe, but it just depends how things shake out. Favorable water conditions could mean a summer steelhead in early June, but the latter part of that month is off to Montana chasing salmon flies and trout. I'm not sure about the timing yet, but July or August might be when I finally scratch the itch to catch a golden trout in its native range in the Sierras. August and September are backpacking time for high lakes in the Cascades or somewhere new, along with salmon fishing on the Columbia River. And Sept. means back to Montana to strip streamers for brown trout. Sept. and Oct. is the best time for summer steelhead and SRC locally, not to mention trying for coho salmon. One thing I'm noticing is that, even in retirement, it's difficult to do justice to a well appointed fishing calendar.

I know some Utah things I may be able to pass on to you via PM when the time comes ;)
 
MX in late March for all kinds of warm salty fun.
April in MT for some possible trout slappin.
Then back to the usual grind of AK steelhead, salmon, trout and char all summer...and halibut.
Tentative MX again in Sept for baby tarpon with my wife.
Somewhere for fall steelhead, october.
Then back in the cave all winter.
 
I’m going to get back on the muskie treadmill again, and maybe even put one in the net this year. It’s been too long. I’m also starting to think about tuna. That trip with Nick was a hoot.
