Tibor reel question

I had a question regarding the standard Tibor reels. I bought a few used reels (everglades, riptide, gulfstream) for my first trip of a lifetime, Christmas Island. Then came covid and I put the reels away. I converted them to left hand retrieve.
I had a need to put the everglades into service around here. I noticed when you have the drag set kind of hard that when you wind in your line I was winding "against" the drag.
Is this normal for these types of reels?

I have a Tibor Backcountry, with the drag cranked down hard, when I reel I can spin line in by slapping the spool with my fingers and no way am I reeling against the drag. Something's not right. Call Tibor, they have very good customer service.

Can you post a pic of how you have the pawls set. You should feel no resitance while reeling at any drag setting. I think tibors sight might have a drawing of how the pawls should be set for left or right hand.

I'm pretty sure I did. I'll bring one into the shop and watch closely. Been a couple years since I did them and it was a first time for me doing it.
I was pretty sure something wasn't right and you guys helped me confirm it.
