Just had the privilege of watching this amazing Athlete win his 7th World Class Gold Medal and make US Wrestling History!

Jordan Burroughs breaks U.S. wrestling record for Olympic, world titles​

Jordan Burroughs won his sixth world wrestling title, combining with his 2012 Olympic title to become the first U.S. wrestler with seven global gold medals.
Burroughs, 34, won all five of his matches over the last two days at the world championships in Belgrade in the 79kg division, which is not an Olympic weight class.
He beat Iran’s Mohammad Nokhodi 4-2 in Friday’s final, using his trademark double leg takedown, in a rematch of last October’s world final also won by Burroughs.

I'm confident that @swimmy in his prime could have beaten this guy pretty easily. Of course, Burroughs was only ~10 years old at that point in time......

It's not your normal double leg takedown! It's called a "Blast Double" where JB lowers his levels, reaches with both arms, and plants his forehead into the opponents diaphragm area, and the rest is history! Add to this some amazing athletic ability and you have a superior Wrestler who can score two-point, takedowns against the best in the world.

Penn State has a long list of kids who fashioned their heel picks after Coach Kale Sanderson. A very effective takedown when down properly.

With the absence of Russia, Team USA has the team title cinched up over a very tough, second place, Iran. It is most unfortunate that some very talented Russian Wrestlers could not attend because they are under the rule of Putin!

Snyder brings home #4 Gold to go with his 3 Silvers and 1 Bronze. Has medaled every opportunity since he made his first world team. Yianni earns a hard fought Silver. The Iranian was tough.
