Central PS Island

I spent a few days last week housesitting for friends on a central Puget Sound island and had the opportunity to fish several mornings at nearby beaches. Friday and Saturday I fished for salmon at the lighthouse on the east side of the island. There were lots of smaller resident coho around and willing to play, but no keepers. Several boats were working deeper water off of the point, but it looked like they weren't having much success either. Seems like the larger ocean-going fish either hadn't made it that far south yet or were just elsewhere.

Salmon were on their day of rest, Sunday, so I went to the west side of the island looking for SRC. The tide wasn't great, with very little current and few fish around - really not much to report other than another nice morning spent on the water.

Great report! I live so close to this area and need to jump over there. Great to see you didn't get skunked.
The point is definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood - quite a bit of visible feeding activity and nice current, even in a moderate tidal exchange.

Nice and you've got me inspired to get over there. 5 minute drive and a quick ferry ride to get over to the Island for me.
