I carry one of those as well...also comes in handy as a convenient one handed 'positioning' paddle when winddrifting along a lakeshore in a kayak while fishing.

I have installed a clear plastic fuel filter on the line from the portable tank to the motor. You can see if fuel is flowing. I’ve installed one on the tank for my 4hp trolling motor and probably have over a 100hrs on it without the mixed fuel clogging the filter.

That is a pretty clever idea!

On water report:

Started cold second pull this morning and ran just fine. Restarted first or second pull every time over a couple hours of fishing. I think we can chalk this up to bad hose/fittings.
