Puget Sound

Great pictures of a lion's mane jellyfish, Cyanea capillata. It is one of the largest jellyfish known. The nematocysts (stinging cells in the tentacles) do produce a painful sting (even when detached from the bell), but the stings usually are not fatal. However, the lion's mane jellyfish was the true killer in the Sherlock Holmes story "The Adventure of the Lion's Mane" by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Lots of boats out today. Only shakers and cutts today for me but nice morning on the beach.

I don’t know why I don’t check out this thread more often. Great pics on here for sure. Of all the places that I have connections with in WA, I feel some of the deepest with the PS. It’s hard for me to find the balance at times to find that connection depending on the season. This time of year always brings me back and it pulls me in like a magnet.

Moonrise from Thursday night…

It was a great sky tonight. Unfortunately I only saw it from inside my house (work just won’t stop these days), but I’m glad to see others got out and enjoyed it

Fished off the beach today in area 10 for the first time in over a month. Lots of activity in the water. On my left, a family of sea otters swimming around. On my right, a heron was having a good day. Twice had a Peregrine falcon swoop down and catch fish near me. Plenty of seals trolling by. Lots of boats in the main channel. Oh, and I caught about a dozen sculpin, one flounder and finally caught a sea run cutthroat just before I had to leave. Ended up being a perfect morning.

Only had a couple hours today to fish due to other obligations.
Super salad fest. Never took a cast the hour and a half I was on the beach.
Nice morning none the less and didn’t go home empty handed.
