Took a 1.5 mile hike to a Kittitas County high lake yesterday. Saw noone else all day because this orphaned trail isn't in any guidebooks and has very few entries over at WTA. Water was up to the brush due to this years good snowpack.

Pretty cutts sometimes two at a time on the tail and dropper fly.

Some old school wet flies (Invicta, Dark Mackerel, Black Pennell), a Sharpes 88 bamboo rod, a British made Battenkill and a Cortland Camo line. Classics for a classic day.

Nice rod, Dave. I think I know the lake (I was a Trailblazer for many years). I've been wanting to fish classic wet flies and I'd like to know what flies you would think of as classic, in addition to the patterns you've already mentioned.
Thanks,
Cliff

I'm not Dave, or Dave's not here man... But my secret weapon and favorite place to get old fly ideas is the archive of 'just old flies'

http://www.flyanglersonline.com/features/oldflies/archive.php

Also anything in Bergmans Trout book.
