stoke - pics that make you wish you were there?

These pictures are great! I'm in the market for a camera and am asking for some advice here, if you'd be so kind!

This thread has me jonesin' for the spring season...

Here's a work clip - Headin' back to the barn after dropping off guests on their* yacht, 2017

* - It's not really their yacht, it belongs (or belonged, rather) to the Boeing Corporation, and they would bring it up to SE AK every June/July to entertain execs and their families, as well as partners/clients. We guided those folks for years until Boeing sold the yacht (m/y Daedalus) in 2020)

I worked there in 1977-1981 and fished for bass and crappie when the lake was filling up. Spent lots of time up the Dirty Devil Drainage. Probably lots of silt now. Back then there was brush back in the canyons.
That must have been fun, back then. I posted my trip from last spring, on the old site. There wasn't much water then, and it obviously got worse over the summer. Not sure if things will improve this spring, but keeping fingers crossed. I didn't catch any crappie, but SMB's, LMB's, green sunfish (huge), and one striper, all on the fly. I can't wait to do it again.

The fishing changed about the time I left. Stripped Bass and Walleye were increasing and largemouth and crappie were decreasing. Water was much clearer in the lower lake like Bullfrog and Page than the upper lake at Hite.

My cousin caught three walleye (dinner) on spinning gear. We put in at Hall's, not far from Bullfrog and ran south. Mostly looking to get out of the wind. Just in case anyone else is reading this, there is no hotspotting going on here. Powell has more coastline, than all of California :)

Yes, the lake is 150 miles long and there are loads of side canyons. I only fished gear there in the spring and fall. Used 5 different rods rigged with plugs, spinnerbaits, rubber worms, etc depending on where I was fishing. There were lots of 15-18” largemouth and 15” crappie. Biggest bass we caught was 6.5 lbs. 4 lb bass were common.

Right now, the way things stand with the whole pandemic situation and the threat of WWIII in Europe, I really, really want to be here:
