Woohoo! Looking forward to it. Got a new vice for Christmas that I still have yet to break in! (been a busy January)
 
Made decent progress on some tube flies for the swap today. I’ll get pictures up in a bit.

I had to buy some marabou again for the first time in ages…and my goodness the quality has really gone down hill. Or I just had two unlucky batches, I don’t know. It took a lot of sorting and throwing away to get to the right stuff.
 
So I'm lacking in blue dubbing, looking for something half synthetic-ish, maybe some sparkle, longer fibres. I was thinking Arizona Simi seal. That brings me to my question I need to go to a fly shop. The last few times I have been in Idaho, then I realized I havent been anywhere local in maybe 15 years? I looked on Google maps and I'm suprised at the lack of shops around such a populated area. So whats a good shop in the Portland/Metro area, is Kaufmans in Tigard gone????
 
I might have a couple things for you! Let me PM some options later this weekend. Others can chime in on fly shops for now…I’ll touch on that later.

Cool! I will be heading into the Milwaukie area of Portland tomorrow to make a delivery so I'll be out and about, wont need to make a special trip.
 
You can try royal treatment in west linn, or the Portland fly shop near the pearl.

Alright…I couldn’t find the exact bags I was looking for but I did uncover these guys though. Free for the taking if you want to visit Tualatin. And incorporate them into our fly swap somehow. Also happy to snail mail them if that’s easier.

Otherwise, Portland Fly Shop is prob your next option.
