Fishing 3 lakes in three days out of my drift boat was Excellent . Catching, on the other hand was non existent:{
I targeted bass on the fly. Left gear at home.
Spent $85 in bass specific flies on the way to fishing grounds.
Explored 3 new to me lakes was fun, even without fish to the boat.
One Largemouth grabbed a sub surface fly, took to the air in an impressive twisty flight. But in the end it became unbuttoned as I casually reached for the net.
Camping - Finding a campsite that allowed me to fully insert tent stakes was challenging due to bedrock just under the dirt/gravel. I learned to seek out sagebrush bushes and drive my stakes in next to base of sage brush because the roots pushed rocks away, making a small path for my tent stakes to get a bite.
Once I got settled the camping was very relaxing. Enjoyed night sky, sunrise and sunset. Hiking in dessert was special, too.
First pic - 4AM sunrise
2nd pic - Enjoying after breakfast coffee out of my Blue Lake resort coffee cup. A place we used to take our family when my son was in grade school.
3rd pic - Campsite
Sorry, no pics of hawgs or dinks, cause there were none on this trip.
