LOL...most of our player's (everyone but an offensive lineman) will tell you there is no way they could possibly play well if they don't look good.
 
Sideout corduroy shorts from the late 70's, endless beach time behind them, still wear them.
O"neil board shorts from the mid 80's that have surfed through Bali, Java, Tahiti, Fiji, Mex and Central America, still use them.

Vintage Patagonia Stand Up Shorts forever. 4” inseam with a little flare for my thic thighs. Have to buy them used on eBay though, but generally speaking they’re reasonably priced.

Thread drift. When I was a teenager. I had some corduroy long pants with a cuff. When they get wet you have to wear a rope to keep them up. Tie it in the loops of your pants and around your neck, When they get wet they weigh in at about a ton. And don't dry at all in the course of walking home from where ever.
