This. 100%.

I don't mind IPAs. I mind a tap lineup being 75% IPAs. Thankfully, that sort of thing seems to be improving in the PNW. Still a lot of IPAs, but we're starting to see other brewing styles make more of a push.
 
A local place had $2 pints for happy hour (3-6 and 9-close). Manny's, Mac, Stella, Coors, Blue Moon. and 1 rotating IPA. Nice selection and great prices. Then during the last couple of years it was $3 a pint. Now it is $4 per pint and closed completely on Monday's and Tuesdays. Damn P ruined a great thing...

Pint of Manny's for $2 is a deal made in beer heaven. One of my all time favorites.

One of the few good things about the pandemic is that it caused Georgetown to make a run of Manny's in cans.
 
It took me years to learn to like IPAs and many more years to learn that I actually didn’t like them. I’d rather have a milkshake.

I used to buy Bounday Bay Pints for $1.50 and I am just 40.
 
The nicer dive bar in Hood River, The Shed, has the triple B deal. Beer(Rainier on tap in a frozen mug), burger, and beans for $5. Pretty solid deal.
 
First beer I ever had at the age of 10 was one of my dad's beers...he drank Iron City, an 8-pack of 16 oz bottles set you back $1.85...long live the '60's...
 
Just curious. Why has beer gotten so expensive? I understand that the price of everything is up, but even the mass-produced utility beers have increased in price faster than most things.

On the plus side, I really like the local craft beers. Worth the premium. I just wish my German grandfather was around to share some with. He used to call American beer "Pinkel Wasser". Back then he was right. I'm sure he'd be pretty impressed with some of our good craft beers now.
 
If they did, they would be wasted on me. I'm open for one beer because on a hot day one beer tastes good. But the second beer not so good and I don't open a third. Ugh.
 
Always enjoyed the large banner in front of a local dive on US 1 going into Key West. In large letters for all the world to see, "FREE BEER TOMORROW"

Georgia Florida line is easy for the haters to pick, but I kind of dig 'em. They remind me of early season college football.

Also, most of the haters are dorks who can't get chicks. Here's a little swimmy tip, if you need to dial it up at your next party, make sure you have a little GA-FL line in your playlist. Chicks are way into these guys and the moment that tune comes on your party will get rollin'. I call it the swimmy shimmy.

Agreed. They make fun tunes.
 
In college, there was a band that played at the old Monopole (my fav. bar). They were called "Free Beer and Chicken". There is a John Lee Hooker album with the title as well.

I remember a roommate who went to the establishment early one night having misunderstood that it was a band name and not a promotion. The wings were still 15 cents per and pitchers of swill $1.25. The band had a horn if I remember correctly.

The Spokane Indians baseball franchise used to have (many years ago) scheduled '50 cent beer nights', which drew huge crowds, as expected.

The promotion was shortly terminated, when those special nights became more accurately known as '50 cent fist night' because of the many drunken brawls in the stands.
