The North Umpqua is now going to be permanently without hatchery fish.

There is a lawsuit in the works to reverse the decision to scrap hatchery fish.

If that doesn’t work, then they need to close the fly only stretch, particularly a river mile above and below Steamboat Creek…

Ya know…to save the wild fish.

I am opposed to closing off fishing opportunities for pretty much any reason.

If they bail any fishing group out or should be the tackle shops. They actually provide business in a bunch of ways that guides do not. They rent buildings, act as dealerships, have multiple employees, pay taxes. Guides are the opposite in every way. They are typically one giant ego who can row and market themselves.

If we (the taxpayers) need to “bail out” anything, it should be the resource itself.

When I was in business when times got a little rough, no one came to bail us out. Nor did I expect to be.

I’m totally against giving anything to the guides for this.

It’s because the guides only play on Facebook these days. It’s easier to keep the bubble in tact over there.

I agree, IF! anything it should be reduced price education like the loggers got.. again. If anything at all.
