Anyone figure out why Norm quit posting here? It's like nothing but his posts the past 3 pages on the what's in your vise over 'there.' This has really piqued my interest. I can't figure it out.

adding a couple of extra stupid easy-but stupid effective-buggy stone nymphs. Last trip out it was about 50/50 between this and my whitefish-crack egg. I like to tie these on a size 12-16 streamer jigged hook so that the whities can easily get ahold of it.

My buddy John called me Sunday night after we had fished together on Saturday.
He was pretty excited, mentioning he had caught a searun in the 22” range. He lives on the water and has caught a lot of big cutts, so it takes a pretty special fish to get him excited. He said the fish never jumped and ripped all the line he had in out of his stripping basket. Two paddle boarders pulled up and watched the battle.
He caught it on a reverse spider with a chartreuse body.
After hearing that, I decided I better crank out some soft hackles with chartreuse hues to have in my box.

The only two bass of any size I've ever caught on the fly were on...a clouser. The interwebz even say that Bob Clouser developed it for SMB on the Susquehanna River.

Add crickets, hoppers, mice and frogs to your bass kit.A bass sized bluegill?….clouser. Just starting a more serious pursuit of bass so tying up some confidence flies to get started with and clousers catch everything! Bass sized olive bugger coming up next.

I had good success on RapJohn (smallies) using a large light brown hopper pattern that I bent one of the legs on, and after 4 fish, the more ragged it got, the better it got hammered.
