Zen leecher aka Bill W bamboo Hotrod

This morning I received an email from Susan, Bill’s wife asking for a ballpark value on a bamboo Hotrod I redid for Bill just before his passing. It’s a three piece Montague that belonged to either his mom or dad from the 50’s. His brother got one and he got the other, they don’t know which. So we replaced some ferrules, grip, new/more guides, equaled the sections lengths, Tru Oil finish and maroon and gray wraps.
The families have no interest in fly fishing, would one of his WFF friends have any interest in this and possibly some of his other rods? PM me and I can get in touch with Susan or you can directly if you know her.
Steve

I met him one time at a lake cleanup. I think it was Little Cavanaugh up in the hills. We did it on Earth day, many years ago. Some of our little group went back up the next year and it was a pig pen again. So much for trying to clean up Washington state. People just don't care to keep it clean.

Was fishing the N/F Sky up above the closed section. We found where some assholes had camped. They started a fire in a stump and left it burning when they left. We made sure it was out by the time we left the area. Some people are careless and don't give a rats ass for the resources there.

Bill was very excited about the work you did on that rod! I miss that guy.

I talked to Susan tonight - I'm going to see her next week and try to help "price" some of Bill's gear and materials. Your help with valuing the bamboo would be GREAT.
