Just seeing in anyone has these lying around that they aren’t using before I pull the trigger.
I need to add some to my new boots so I stay vertical versus horizontal to the ground. πŸ˜‚

I use the studded rubber soles on my Korker’s boots. Lately I have been using the studded felt on the Deschutes and other streams. I also use a wading staff more frequently. Getting old ain’t for sissies! Also have used motorcycle stud screws for traction. I’ll see if I have anything in my fishing box.

I have some Kold Kutters. I just wanted to try the Simms Hardbites to see if they last longer and are more durable than the Kold Kutters.

Sorry about the delay in responding. I looked and don’t have any of the Simms Hardbites. On my Simms boots I use the aluminum cleats, but mostly use Korkers boots.

No worries and thanks for looking!

SF - I installed a set of those on some rubber soled boots for a Yellowstone trip a few years ago. They worked well but the boots also happen to be the ones I use in the salt and they rusted up pretty quickly even with rinsing. Not sure what your intended use is but just FYI.

I’ll be using them in both salt and fresh water.
Do they still work ok on the beaches even if rusted up?
My Kold Kutters rusted and still worked fine.

They work ok for awhile but about 3 years in about half have broken off leaving just the screws. The rest are on their last legs. The studs seemed to thin out and get brittle with the rust. I’m sure fishing rocky beaches with barnacles oysters etc is a little outside the intended use. I think they’re good for freshwater but I wouldn’t count on long term salt use going very well. I have cold cutter type things on my freshwater felts but haven’t tried anything else in the salt.

Good info. Much appreciated.
Maybe I’ll go with these instead of the Hardbites since these will be used mainly in the salt.
Anyone have any of these lying around they aren’t using?
