Anyone wanna go to Christmas island next winter?

That said, one thing I am curious about is if, or what, opportunities there might be to cast off the reef edge. Like is it even possible to stand on the reef and cast into open, deep water? What lives on the drop-off? Snapper? coral trout? dogtooth tuna? pelagics?.... Inquiring minds want to know!

Tuna can be seen feeding from the beach. There us a dugout canoe available for any brave soul who wishes to use it. Also if enough of the party wishes to do so they will spend a morning trolling outside the atol where there tuna, rainbow runners , baracuda and other various fish.

I think about this trip but have a hard time committing.
