What are you listening to?

I've been on a bit of a Steely Dan kick lately since I found a few of their CDs at the used record store. Here are two from Pretzel Logic. Everyone's probably heard the first, but the second is a fun, twangy, tune with an interesting storyline (which I'm a sucker for):





And, all those Stelly Dan recordings sound soooo good.

I wore out my "Can't Buy a Thrill" LP, such a great album from them.

Even though it’s absolutely not my thing, I felt compelled to dig a little deeper. I’d never heard of grind core, crust punk, or death metal. Wow.

Back in the day, a co worker kept asking me to come hear his band play. I finally went and it was sooo like Napalm Death’s official Contagion video.

My co worker played bass, did the “incomprehensible growl” and dove onto the mosh pit thing. An other worldly experience for a small town midwest classic rock fan.

Makes me wonder what my old co worker is up to now 🤔. Haven’t thought of him in years…thanks for that👍

This album was released a few months after I separated from active duty with the Navy. I still enjoy the album (although now mostly streamed but sometimes played on an old CD player, that worn out LP, along with a few hundred other LP's, went to Dan's collection).
