Not making light of the fire, but it's news to me that there is a city at Vantage. I thought I'd been to Vantage; there's a gas station and a motel.

As an aside, I have dim memories before Wanapum Dam as a child when we drove over the Columbia River bridge when there was a small village at Vantage. That's all under the reservoir.

My daughters family was on a level 2 evacuate notice yesterday with the Cougar fire by Newnan lake. Thankfully they threw resources at it & stopped it at 3 acres

Okanogan County Fairgrounds now open to evacuees and their animals. It gets closer every day with even hotter weather on the way!
