Celebrating Our 250th Anniversary

whelp, my dogs much prefer a Metallica concert on YouTube over what's starting....

Two live bands cranking out music.

The fervor is doubling every half hour.
Firecrackers, then pop bottle rockets and now some bigger canisters.

Birds scrambling for cover. Just saw a family of raccoons and an opposium running for cover,

Great to see and hear people gathering, singing, dancing and enjoying a pleasant evening celebrating our 250th and life in general.

Like it should be!

And now JCM, Americana at it best and I’m not an American yet 😀 so much good music that can bring us all together. Jack and Diane, what’s not to like.

Gal and doggo and I went north and saw one of my favourite Australian bands play in Vancouver, Canada. Granville was pedestrian only and packed; before the show we sat and watched people from all over the world enjoying the evening. Looking forward to some Chinese food for breakfast tomorrow.

I went to DC expecting the biggest, largest, most impressive fireworks display ever in the history of the world, Possibly universe and I found this:

From Tyson’s Corner I thought this was the world’s largest Slim Jiim but on approach maybe a rectal thermometer then to our amazement it truly became a once in a lifetime expression of the endearing love for this country some people in high places have. What-a-country!

Seattle tonight. 20th anniversary of their first album which they’ve playing… so good! Brought me right back in time.

Not to brag or anything, but Lincoln and Omaha love this holiday so much that we sacrifice our lung health for it. 😬
Found out one dog love watching the fireworks now (she's old and senile) while the other one wouldn't leave the basement.

Blessed quiet here last night, no doubt because two of the largest local tribes recently outlawed sale or use of fireworks on their reservations. The cost of fighting wildfires and recovering from loss of housing finally outweighed the short-term profit from Pyro sales.

Yesterday was awesome! A good friend Val enjoyed the fourth with me….cruzn, drinking, eating and living room dancing! The fireworks went into high gear around 10:00-1:00 am….then a few clowns still had some left so they thought it’d be a good idea blasting for 15 minutes at 3:45 am???
