opensecrets.org is a web site that provides information on who is buying or renting a Senator. A site well worth exploring if your interested in who is buying or renting your Senator. It used to be only a couple of folks were wealthy enough to buy a Senator, while the rest of 'em had to settle for renting them as needed for their pet project or tax break.
After watching this website for a couple of decades. Wealthy folks are not stupid. Maintenance costs are very high when you own something. Renting is much cheaper.
Anyway.....here you go

I must say that MicroSoft maintenance costs are fairly high in one case.
Also if your totally fed up with https://www.recreation.gov/, your probably not going to get anywhere complaining to Senator Murray, notice the rent payment from Booze, Allen, Hamilton.
The Smokey Wire is a bunch of FS and others involved in the environmental wars of the 1990's. Worthwhile site to monitor if you want to see current thoughts of professionals that were there at the time. As I was posting this message, I checked them and they had an article on REC.GOV
https://forestpolicypub.com/2026/06...ec-gov-bots-but-only-writes-to-chief-schultz/.
Getting back to bots and AI I wonder how REC.GOV will function once everybody starts using agents and other aspects of AI?? Is there a reason to AI the great outdoors??
I use to read all the candidates positions on issues before I voted. These days I just go to opensecrets.org or the Washington state site on political contributions and vote on the basis who is renting whom.
