I built this rod for myself to scratch the itch I’ve had for a modern glass rod. I’ve built several for others and while lawn casting them, thought they were pretty damn nice. They’ve all felt powerful to me, like big results for little effort. This rod is the same. It actually feels underlined as I needed a fair bit of line out to get the feedback I prefer in a rod. I feel like the bottom could be a little softer in flex. That’s on me though, as Graywolf classified this as a fast-glass and it is. I must admit it’s easy to cast. Getting in rhythm with deliberate casting, it would zing my type-3 line out there with little effort. As with most glass rods I’ve used, it doesn’t respond to being muscled. It responds to smooth deliberate cast. I did notice the weight. Glass rods are definitely getting lighter then yesteryear but compared to graphite rods, they are still heavier. Not a deal breaker though, as I had no extra pain or fatigue after a full day of fishing, just something I notice. This rod is made of S2-S glass. S2 glass fiber is the new standard in modern glass rods. All the large manufacturers use it for their glass rods. Echo, Orvis, Epic, No. Fork Composites, etc. I’m happy with this new rod and look forward to using it going forward…

I feel like this is a "name that grip style" test.....double reverse half wells? 😁

Absolutely love the green wraps and reel seat - gorgeous build!

Thanks. The grip is a Fenwick. It’s my personal favorite for 5 and less weight rods. You might notice the hook holder is up a ways from the grip end. When stripping I like to wrap my finger over the grip end and this grip accommodates that..
