WDFW Jet Skis

It's been 10+ years ago but while floating a MT river I saw some 'A-hole' coming upriver on a jet ski towards me.
It had to go through some pretty significant rapids and a gnarly rock garden to disturb what was normally a tranquil river to get there.
As it got closer I could see that the person was wearing olive drab and then I could see a gun. Sure enough it was a game warden checking licenses. He wasn't the usual and when I asked he said he was out poaching the usual wardens territory.
I never saw him in that stretch after that. Maybe going back downstream through all of that wasn't as much fun.
 
Several years ago a sheriff ( I’m pretty sure it was a sheriff and not a game warden) was on one on the cowlitz. He stopped to check my license and I wasn’t happy that this guy just jetted through the water I was swinging. He mentioned they just got it and he was pretty pleased and expected it to be a great tool, wore a big smile the whole time. 30 minutes or so later while drifting down, he was in a fisherman’s sled and they were towing his jet ski back up river. I asked what happened and he just looked down and the guy driving the sled just shook his head and smirked. That was the only time I ever saw that jet ski on the river.

The officer must have been related to the Cowlitz Bayliner guy who also owned a jet ski. 😂

They can put them to good use chasing down the jet ski jerks not following the distancing protocols for whales in the sound.
 
Lake Oswego Fire Department and Clackamas County Sheriff Department has jet skis cruising the Willamette River around Gladstone and Oregon City area. My fishing area fills up with sport jet skis around this time of year. I observed one jet skier doing flips. :oops:
