Custom Rod Builds (Post your own personal builds)

That is awesome to hear. I have used mainly just the ALPS guides but that is just do to convenience on my ability to get them, but it is awesome to hear more about the Snake Guides brand. I will have to try them! I always see them online and had no idea they were out of battleground! Thanks for the info! I appreciate it, will give me some new guides to look at and play around with! As far as reel seats go, I again just do to convenience use a lot of alps, but I have been getting a few more lemke reel seats which feel awesome and high quality! I did try a storable one also, which I loved! Just very sleek! @TroutStyx when you're buying your guides and components do you go straight to Snake Guies or do you use another site? Thanks again for your info!
I generally call ahead and schedule a time to visit him in the shop. That being said, I just checked his website (Snakeguides.com) and the new single-foot guides as well as the universal round loop tip tops are there, along with everything else.

I haven't built a fishpole in a looooong time. A GLoomis BB904 as a jig stick was the last one, sometime in the late 90's...

Hooded rear seat and a burl grip, a little blue metallic bling on the wraps. The old Fuji asymmetrical feet make the wraps look wonky 😅

Here’s two rods I finished this week, both of them 8# from No.Fork Composites…. First is an Iconoglass in grey w/ metallic trim. The reel seat is a nickel plated Atlas and the guides are stainless steel all to make this rod, good to go for the Saltwater….the Second is an Epitome Series Rod, NFC’s top of the line blank, with a Carbon Atlas reel seat and stainless steel guides. Finished rod weighs only 4.1 oz. Rock’in for a 8#. Sage thread w/ burgundy trim. I’m gifting this rod to my nephew in Salt Lake who is a great streamer fisherman. His goes up to SW Wyo. and catches BIG Browns

Love the color schemes on both! That iconoglass blank is such a sleek color, plus the guide wraps are awesome! Love it!
