What boxes/systems do people like for storing big streamers?

I've been tying up bigger streamers in prep for Baja and was wondering what systems people like to keep their larger flies organized? We're talking big Gym Socks and sardinas and so forth up to 8/0.

I've got some Plano boxes w/ moveable dividers, and some slotted foam boxes, but I don't really love either.

I suggest plastic storage tubes of your choosing. I use dime/nickel/quarter storage tubes as well as some larger all purpose ones, keeps everything separated and straight. My biggest tubes are 6" long a bit bigger than a quarter around but they make em bigger

Snowbee saltwater fly wallets work well. They are light, keep salt off your flies, and hold a good number.

I also use 1 gallon Ziplock bags with a 1" thick piece of foam inside to carry big flies. Very light and convenient.

The big plastic boxes work, but add a few pounds to your travel bag.

If you have the space, I haven’t found a better solution than the biggest Cliff box. Just a heads up, the MX airports almost always makes you check fishing gear on the way home, so I have ample space for way more gear than I would otherwise be taking.

I'm flying down in November so I'll be going lighter with the gear but the gal and I are driving back down for the winter at some point in December, at which point I'll bring the kitchen sink.

I just use a pistol style art box with foam glued in, but I’m into GSmolt’s ziplocks now

I'm probably going to go this route for my next Baja trip.

I currently use the big plastic pistol cases with foam glued inside and Plano lure boxes (great for musky fishing locally), but I like this idea much better.

I am a flexible foam and ziplock kind of guy. if you care for the ziplock reasonably well can use a rinse bag too. It's not classy foam like Dimebrite has at 1", it's cheap-ass 1/8 inch foam board, often doubled over if the hook gape is wider. My Badly tied flies are not worthy of more. Mind you these flies are nowhere near as large, so go bigger on the foam like Gsmolt and Dime suggest....

When we went on our Dorado fishing trip to Baja, I used clear plastic sandwich containers. Nothing fancy but someplace to keep the giant flies.

I put my musky flies in a BBQ tools case that I got as a Father's Day gift one year. 😁

It's too big for a float tube or my Commander, but it works well in the boat if you want them pre-rigged with 100# fluoro or your preferred bite leader. I like Randy's fly wallet idea if space is an issue.

Get some plastic boxes of your choosing. You can order them wherever or get them at bimart. You can go waterproof or not. I go cheap. I literally have these ones that are dirt cheap and look like a plastic briefcase. Then go direct the other aisle in bimart and get yourself some Weldwood river cement and some of that foam anti fatigue garage flooring. Cut to size, glue in box. There you have it. A businessman's box of death for flies as large as your mind can dream and for cheap. Smaller big stuff gets the bugger barn because I'm not a total broke caveman. I'm just adaptable and crafty with no vanity. I love it with my musky suitcase size one comes out labelled "meat locker 1" on the lid. People ask me where I got it. I tell them for under 10 bucks they too can have a set.

This is hilarious cause I got the same set as a gift and repurposed the box the same way. I like it. It looks very Miami vice drug dealer.
