I had got the boat that Evan had me get (not his boat). My stroke hit me when I was making area in garage to start clean up and build up boat. Of course stroke put everything on hold. I still don't have the strength to work a lot. So wasn't sure when I'll ever get boat ready. Do ran into a boat I've wanted for years and jumped on it.
So my son has been wanting that aluminum boat. When I saw the Hi-Laker I had an idea. I gave him boat, trailer, and all the goodies I've bought for it except the motor. I paid for that Yamaha to add to the aluminum boat. I made a deal I'll charge him cost i paid for Yamaha, which will pay for motor. I got a great deal on a newer Yamaha 4 stroke, and he know what I bought for it, so he was all on board.
Picked up boat on Saturday. I have a love for Hi-Lakers, I grew up fishing on them. My Dad's boat was burned up in the Pt Defiance fire. After my retirement I wanted to fish the saltwater more. Mostly Puget Sound. When that Western aluminum boat Evan hooked me up with was perfect. Been buying pieces for the boat but by hit. But this Hi-Laker has everything and more, basically ready to fish right now, and price was cheap (had dropped way in price because nobody would come even look into boat).
So way too much to add into right now. At least now my brain works
. But close to $1,000 of extra goodies with boat. Just the boat, motor (50hp SeaHorse Johnson), amb trailer are worth what I paid for it. Then all the extras, and I keep finding more, is making me smile. He had professional work done on boat to rebuild floors and transom. He's an older guy and he was happy that sometime wanting it was taking it, especially after he knew I was a Hi-Laker guy.

My Dad is probably smiling me having it, or he's the one he found it for me.
mostly cleaning and a few odds and ends to do to it. But guy who owned it bought nothing but good things to put on boat.
