She had probably eaten recently...a little early to be bursting with youngsters. Plus, lots of frogs heard...pretty snek

I think you'd be in good company with most of my fishing buddys....I donβt mind the snakes as long as I see them well in advance. Do not like the surprise visits. And damn some blend in so well with the terrain too.

I was about waist-deep in the Deschutes at South Junction a few years back. Across the river, I spied what appeared to be a tree branch in the river near the opposite bank until I noticed it was undulating. I soon realized that it was a large rattlesnake! The river current combined with the snake's trajectory was going to bring it right to me. I have never been more grateful for a wading staff. It narrowly missed me.I donβt mind the snakes as long as I see them well in advance. Do not like the surprise visits. And damn some blend in so well with the terrain too.
You know those golden bones were chuggin cow shit as soon as it splashed downDuring that absolute furnace heat wave like 9-10 years ago we drove down I5 from SEA to Portland. The cows on some of those islands- maybe Martin Island?- (your photos look like maybe some islands in the Columbia)- were just chillin' in water well over half-way up their ribs. Below them, you wonder if the CAPR were psyched to have their feeding flats busted up a little. Or if they were in heaven dining on cow pies....
