Bamboo Fling 2026?

In an effort to continue the past tradition, is there any interest in another day casting and talking bamboo fly rods? Looking back to the 2025 event we met the first weekend of May.

I’m in and that time frame works as long as I don’t have to work that weekend.

I'm in for it. Pick a day and I will try my best to be there. Hopefully I will have my 135-year-old Hardy rod rewrapped.

May 9th will work for me! The 2nd is one of my Mayfly Project outings. Sundays open it up for me, other than the 2nd Sunday of the month. Hope I can make it!

Any NorCal members interested in doing something similar closer to Sac? Maybe make it a weekend on the river? Upper Sac, McCloud, or something south of there like the Carson?

How about we focus on the 2nd or the 3rd of May. The following weekend is Mother's Day weekend so that might be an issue for some of us, mainly me.

I hope to see many of you there again this year. I'll be bringing about 9 rods rigged for test casting for anyone who is or has an interest or curiosity about bamboo fly rods. No pressure to buy at all, just a chance to cast some different tapers to see what type of taper you may like sometime in the future. There should be many other rods to test cast and plant the seed of a different kind of fly-fishing experience. I will warn you it's a slippery slope if you get too close, ask me I know.
