I prefer to call them strike indicators.

I fished Dry Falls this morning and while the fishing was tough, I managed to land a fly rod, reel and line. Please help identify the rod so I can get it back to the owner. I'm SUPER curious how this rod ended up in the lake.

No lead pipe found..........
Still on the bottom. It was ballast.
I’ll meet you at the ramp at 0600. We’ll crack this case before lunch and then take the afternoon off.
First thing Wednesday morning I’ll meet you at Colonel Mustard’s place before he has his eye opener.
He’s been seen cavorting with the Ex at the museum. Wear camo. He gets off on men with ‘elan.

boy, you were really draggin the bottom to hook this
Dave - I was standing up in my pram, slowly cruising (harling? trolling?) back towards the launch when I spotted the rod. DF is really clear right now, I could see the rod with the reel on bottom and the tip sticking towards the surface with the tip maybe 8 or 9 feet below the surface. I dropped my anchor, added a couple split shot to a Gloater (on my type-5 sinker) and "caught" the rod (reel, line and......... the mystery of how this rod was lost goes on.............).

Well I know exactly how a couple of mine ended up in the bottom of Strawberry reservoir here in Utah , not paying attention . And not a thing you can do about it . Trolling backwards in my pontoon ,just no way to reach for it ,and not being able to stop before it goes down. Pretty disheartening to watch that rod tip pointed up ,and sinking out of sight . :(

To the top. Anyone hear of someone losing a fly rod at the Giant Cataract Lake - must have been this month as the rod was (now is) far to clean to have overwintered at the bottom of the lake. Someone is missing a rod, reel, line and............. BTW, the rod was seen just off of "Canyon Point East" (ask Rex where this is).

I know how "it" happened, at least how "it" happened to me.
One evening I was fishing a private lake in OKanogan Co. WA
I was rowing around in a little boat trolling a wooly bugger.
I had been on the water for over an hour and it was starting to get dark.
I had not had a bite even through fish were rising around some.
I didn't have a rod holder so I would put the rod between my knees when I rowed.
I headed over to where I would take out and instead of reeling my fly in I left it in the water and as the bow of the boat hit shore my fly rod just jumped right out of the boat.
My 9' 5wt eagle claw fiber glass with grandpas automatic reel was gone.
I went back the next day and rowed around for hours looking through the clear water but never found my rod and reel.
This little lake had been stocked three years before with Kamaloop trout and most were running around two plus lbs and would put up quit the fight.
The morel of the story is to never, and I mean never leave yer rod unattended.

The mystery continues with this lost rod, can't say anything more (just yet) but the hint is: It wasn't a trout

I have this rod listed here and on WFF - any suggestions where else I can share the information?
