'Tis low, but flow out of Wickiup is about the same as last year




Wickiup looks in good shape for the coming irrigation season:



The upper Deschutes is actually pretty fascinating - very little "runoff" feeds the upper river, it's all Little Lava, which is a giant spring, and a spring just below Little Lava - 2 to 3 years from now, the Deschutes will pay for the low snow year this year.

I do want to see a higher SWE but Professor Mass has a couple of recent blog posts that sound at least helpful for our Western Washington precip.

I wonder if Century drive will open early this year.

we took a drive mid week, not a bit of snow on it. Weather forecast to be mid 70's here next week. Expect the roads to both Crane and the Volcano lakes to be open early this year.

Volcano lakes don't open until 01 April if I recollect, at least the big one (perhaps it has changed since we left). Bet twin lakes are accessible and fishing ...

Only a couple rain showers here yesterday. Had me thinking I should have gone fishing, but it was kinda' chilly and breezy. Moved and stacked firewood instead. Clear and cold this morning; I should finish with the firewood.

Chilly here too - I thought we might get some snow when a heavy shower passed through earlier this morning and the temperature was 34. It's warmed up to 38 which is still a bit on the chilly side for the Oregon Coast.

Looks a bit gusty in eastern WA. I was once fishing a lake over there when one of those dust storms hit. That was wild.
