Robert Duvall passed today

Never seen Lonesome Dove so started working my way through it... busted out laughing in this scene... "I think this is our man..."

You’ll most likely be askin’ “Tito…get me some tissues.”, later in the show. 😉

@FinLuver Love that the cook has a whole kitchen set up, cooking stuff, cast iron, lanterns, stacks of tortillas while undergoing the job interview that involves him telling about how he sent his wife to hell, and he tells Gus he will be ready in just 1 minute to start the job, reaches for his poncho, no one blinks an eye ! That and the cook is more eloquent than Gus and Woodrow combined.

There is a lot of fun they have, Tommy Lee playing the straight guy, Duvall with the wisecracks....

Only one spits out the candied grasshopper, the other continues to enjoy it with a smile. Gus was always more open to new sensual experiences.

I too am a big fan. Of all the great movies, I never miss seeing Lonesome Dove again, and again. Believe I read recently that in an interview he said he had the most fun in that role as Gus. He wore it well.
“Gonna get me some.”
Tommy Lee Jones is also a fav, and I imagine enjoyed it too: “Even though I have lost a friend, Bob’s work will be with us indefinitely,”
