That feeling when you get some new fly fishing stuff

There I was yesterday, hunkered down in my home office and living the corporate grind. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. I ran upstairs and opened my door to find some glorious new fly fishing stuff. New reel, new sinking line for me to hopefully up my lake game, a new “truck rod” I plan to use for bass, some tippet and leaders, couple dozen flies in patterns I can’t and/or don’t tie myself, etc. Took a snap of some of my haul. My wife gave me a disgusted “MORE fly fishing stuff!?!” so you know it is good :)

For what it’s worth I will post impressions of the Redington Bass Field Kit once I have had some time with it on water.

Stoked!

To the forum - what new fly fishing-related item(s) are you excited about getting/using?

Plenty to be frustrated about in this world, but hoping everyone takes a beat and finds something that gets them excited about 2026 fishing, be it tying some new patterns, rerigging some existing equipment, organizing their gear closet/fly boxes, getting a boat ready, picking something up from a fly shop, etc. Better yet hope you get out there soon!

'That feeling when you get some new fly fishing stuff' - i feel a bit poorer.... but its way better than spending on some other things.

Love getting new almost anything.. fishing stuff isn't high on the list, as I have a fly shop in the garage and house! LOL!

In the last 20 years I have spent less than $600 on fishing equipment and supplies. Trying to use up 50 years of hoarding.

I forgot the feeling 😕

Now do not ask me what I spent on lodging, guides, airfare, gas on trips...

You can always seek therapy at your local fly shop. I’m sure they will be more than able to help you🤣
