What is this thing you call 'sweat'? If it involves work I ain't doin' it.I can see that you don't work up a sweat by doing what you do.

Bill, I bake bread every week and have for years. And I have the big KitchenAid Professional also but it isn't necessary to make great bread. Although I use it often I have recently started using the stretch and fold technique. Check it out on YouTube, etc. It is remarkably simple and it makes better bread than the big mixer. When I want to make an extra special loaf to give to friends I'll stretch and fold. By the third S&F the dough is really soft and can be baked at that point. One more S&F and it is creamy smooth and makes a wonderful crumb.I golf a little, before fly fishing I used to golf 3 to 4 times per week.. not enough time and/or money to golf that much and fly fish.
I would say I collect, with all of the fly rods, reels, lines and materials for fly tying.. I've spent the past year and a half fighting this and have tossed or donated a ton of shit! None of the FF stuff though.
Reading and hunting and collecting rare bourbon and whisk(e)y.. I drink them, and share with friends.. same with wine and beer! Those of you that have fished with me or run into me on the river know I always have something in my sling pack or jacket....
I do have a nice collection of yo yo's! And some nice knives a friend makes.. and last is cooking and bbqing! During Covid, I taught myself to smoke food and will be doing a brisket this year.. A friend is giving me his smoker vault.. baking bread is also something I have done since I was a teen. It was easier when I had a Kitchen Aid mixer.. I will be getting a new one this year sometime!
I forgot cribbage and backgammon.. recently dominoes (Cuban style)...
Pulling weeds…aka farmers art!Cleaning gutters
Dusting blinds
Folding fitted sheets

Can I assume, that you have seen the 'Detectorists' ?Metal Detecting…..mainly old guy stuff but started doing in back in the 70’s with my pops. Fun as hell digging stuff up. You never know what you’ll find.

I've also been baking bread weekly for almost 6 months. Do you have any killer recipes for crispy, crackly crust / open crumb white bread that you'd be willing to share?Bill, I bake bread every week and have for years. Oh man, that's a great lefty Regular. Judging by the belly on that blade, guessing it's BG42 steel. Regulars are my focus in collecting now. I used to chase the latest and greatest custom but have been keeping it simple in recent years. CRK, Laconico & Mayo are my main interest.Oh boy,
I'm a collector. As in, I have a problem. I try to keep it simple and small, but as it's in my gene's, and I'm now cleaning up the messes of my late dad, I'm doing my best to keep it all in check.
I collect knives, including some custom's, high end production knives, vintage and antique slipjoints, vintage Gerber and Buck knives, and just about any knife designated as a left hander.
I collect vintage and antique fountain pens. I am particularly drawn to the early celluloid pens of the 20s and 30s, but again, my collection runs amok.
I collect wristwatches. Mostly vintage. Always a fan of dive watches. I have everything from Rolex's to Casio's. It's not about the bling, so much as it is about the history and the uniqueness of the piece.
I collect tobacciana, which includes, lighters, pipes, cigars and most bizarre, production snuff, dip, chew cans and even pouches. Some go back a hundred years or more. I don't use tobacco in any way.
I collect books and original art. I like modern and abstract art. I like first editions/first printings of Sci/Fi, Fantasy and classics.
I collect vinyl (as in records), and have a nice little turntable setup.
I have 'small' collections of antique cartridges (shotgun shells), firecrackers (yup) and comics. Mostly manga.
On the active side of things, I've been snowboarding for over 35 years, and was a skier before I switched over completely. We are also really into Wakesurfing and waterskiing, which I've been doing as long as I've been snowboarding. Boating is just a part of my life, regardless.
I hunt upland birds, but might think about getting back into ducks. I also enjoy shooting, particularly sporting clays, but have taken a bit of a hiatus with all else that I have going on.
Travel, food, wine, spirits and coffee make up the rest, when I'm not trying to figure out an income.
All the 'stuff', is more to do with my curiosity, than anything else. I'm no longer a hoarder, and can easily sell off or trade away my collections, once I've moved on. One important lesson, I've learned in the past few years, as I watched both my parents die, is that you can't take it with you. So, experiences, friends and family will always come firstView attachment 10489

The older Al Mar and Randalls are beautiful. I wish I knew more about Randalls. Like Buck and Case, there are so many models out there. Here’s a few of my knives, two of my favorites an Al Mar and a Randall.
