Been doing more drives and it's like I've never had a stroke. Had zero problems. Just odd that the longest I've never drove since I was 15 years old.

I'm now setting up with a local gym. A mixture of water work and muscle building machines. The PT isn't enough. In fact making me worse (they tried working on trying to fix my 20 year old ADA injury). My biggest problem is need is working my strength. Sat for a month in the hospital bed without moving killed me. Amazing how much muscle you use when you don't move. After 2 years retired and I was still as strong. Not anymore.

Setting myself hopefully fishing trips by the summer. As of right now I have a hard walking to the mail box. I'll admit that it's really having a problem with my feeling. I'm doing my best to keep positive, just isn't easy when I get hit with a 2 way punch of my brain and my body. Not asking for positive posts, just letting reality. I know I've been blessed to have a second chance that a lot of people were a lot worse, especially after 2 strokes back to back. The stroke had me forget most of what happened. I remember about the last 1 1/2 weeks of 4 weeks in hospital. So feels like I woke up and have no strength to do anything and in constant pain.

So I'm doing things day by day. Trying to work on my brain and strength best I can every day. I know it's not going to be quick and a few more years before I can get back some of my brain work I've lost. I'm not experiencing it to be fixed fast. Trying to be thankful for all i have. I've had a lot that others haven't. Just time to keep with more working on me.

I'm sure you have professionals already advising and guiding you, but make sure to supplement with protein powder and creatine when you start doing more strenuous workouts. Those become crucial, especially as we age.

x2...
"Ccreatine is unique in its role buffering and recycling cellular energy, acting as an internal battery pack, keeping our energy output stable and responsive during moments of high demand — whether that’s physical exertion, intense mental concentration, or recovery.
This system becomes even more important as we age, as our body’s natural production of creatine begins to decline.
When creatine levels run low, the consequences are low energy, cognitive fatigue or lack of focus, stress, slower recovery, and increased risk of muscle and bone loss."

Thought I'd add a official update.

Today I was cleared to no more PT and the OT. So all the work they can do on me PT is over. Now my work to the gym. The OT checked my normal day work and was the one who did my driving. I don't need him at all to drive.

Now two ones won't go away any time soon. The doctor who watches over me will still be at least once a week and the speech therapist too. Still have a lot of work to go there with talking actual with people. Getting a lot better, but speech has a long way to go. Way farther then all doctors and specialists can believe I've went. But still places to go.

So that's where I'm out as of just leaving hospital

Thanks, Jerry. That makes my day!! Congrats & know there's a whole bunch of us thinking about and rooting for you. :):):):)
Thank you. I know my doctors is amazing every time I see him. He can't wait until my stroke doctor gets to see me in about 2 weeks. She hasn't seen me since the day I was released from hospital in October. My doctor is seeing that work with PT, OT, and ST. So he is excited to see my stroke doctor how I've come in such a short time.
