Never has the disparity been greater between what stars get paid vs the rest of the team, creating payrolls in which a small handful of stars can command up to 40% of the total cap.
This has made drafting skilled players who can contribute while still on their rookie four year contract absolutely essential, as the majority of emerging stars will jump teams to chase $ on their next contract.
Easier said than done looking at the GM's and coaches getting flushed around the league, so much of it due to the disconnect between who the GM's drafted/traded vs what the coaches needed to execute their schemes.
Not surprised by Harbaugh getting walked, another team that under performs less than the sum of it's parts. As to him going to the Raiders, between owner, GM and the Brady Effect, has to be the most unattractive HC job in the league.
