Man I miss the simpler days of tv…..rabbit ears with aluminum foil for “better” reception with only a few channels and no cost local stations! Yes I’m old…..
Remember it well , in the 50's, living in northern Montana , we had two channels, one coming out of Great Falls ,and the other Lethbridge out of Canada . Exactly, rabbit ears with the foil ,continually adjusting hoping for a better picture . :)

Peacock
Amazon
Netflix
NFL Network

I mean, is the NFL trying to show games to as few people as possible? Just lame....
I did a little research into this. The viewer total differences between streaming and broadcast are not that different with broadcast winning by a few tens of thousand viewers. The major reason for the nfl going to streaming services like Apple and Netflix is the money those services pay upfront to be able to exclusively stream the games.

MLB is going to the streaming model even more than the NFL.

In the early days of cable, it was $10 or $11 a month and zero advertisements, making it a good deal IMO. Now fvcking Netflix and Prime both include ads unless you pay a 50% premium on top of the basic subscription price. Greedy bastards is the natural and logical explanation.

We wait for all the episodes of a show we want to watch land, then join that particular content provider for a month to view the entire series. So aside from the usual cable TV lineup paired with our fiber internet pkg, the only provider we use throughout the year is Prime, as most of our consumer goods come from Amazon.
By selling their games around the internet to the top bidder, the NFL has done a wonderful job of turning formerly enthusiastic fans like myself into much more casual viewers, only watching the interesting games when available to do so.
Meanwhile, a primary gripe with the NFL remains the same - in a league which generates over 20B a year in revenue and every team is worth billions, the ref's remain part time contractors, lacking the ongoing training of full time employees = far too often making the wrong calls at the wrong times

Done away with Comcast cable bill of $130 a month when I found a deal at Costco for a dual buy of Roku. I also have an antenna with the foil on the ears. That is what I watch 85% of the time. I pay Amazon the "prime" for no shipping, but am charged $8.99 for their Roku channel, I thought it was for free if the Amazon Prime is paid for?

Giants can't be tanking too much. Wilson is on the inactive list still...
