My " Throw Back Thursday " fly this week, Ruth Ann
This is the 1st fly I ever tyed for steelhead and salmon when I was 11 maybe even 12 by then. I had watched guys catching steelhead and salmon on pink lil corkies and red lil corkies with orange or white yarn or even both together so it was a no brainer to come up with this combo. Years later I named after my mom whom bought me my 1st fly tying kit and it just worked so dam good.

Do you have a ring light? I was trying to figure out how you made the eyes but I'm guessing it's a reflection in a round bead?
One of my long time friends grew up in the Driftless area. I love listening to him tell stories about hunting for trout (1950's) there. Can you please share the materials for your ant patterns? Very interesting looking flies./Pat

McPhail’s Coch y Bonddu Muddler (variation II)
A few minor changes to my original attempt; mainly added a shoulder. It was a first fish/first cast fly on a trip I took in August (lost it a few minutes later); most of my muddlers are usually one-offs but I kinda like this one.

Regards,
Scott
