It is so easy to dwell on the negative aspects of our lives. Pure nature of things for sure.

Lets discuss the positive things we have encountered...,

I will start.

Our youngest daughter has found a great partner she is committed to. Truly a great guy!

I have been found cancer free for my medical challenges. Great news!

My wife and I had our 43rd year of celebration of marriage.

I gave away a lot of materials in the 'Pay It Forward for Free' thread as well as behind the scenes.

I re-connected with past fishing buddies and spent a few times with them. So much fun!

I fished a couple of spots long forgotten and memories were re-established.

I am volunteering as Santa at a local hospital again. Putting smiles on faces ---> priceless!

Pretty good for this last year.

Yours?

@RCF,

Congrats on the Medical Bill of Health. What a massive relief.

Cool thread idea. Thank you.

For me, my wife, last week, was medically cleared, of a cancer scare herself.

My mother is still alive and healthy, with full faculties, at 84. Incredible woman.

My kids are gonna be home for Christmas. My daughters' treasured boyfriend will also be here.

One of my oldest, fishing/camping/work friends, just survived open heart surgery. We've been chasing adventures together for the last 44- ish years. Looks like we've got a few more years, of the same ahead of us.

Blessed beyond anything I deserve.

Bob

As I've gotten older the more I focus on not trying to be a dick. Life is easier if you're just nice. My son is about to turn six and is in a school that he does well at. I've been with my wife for 10 years, she and my son are the best things that have happened to me. Challenges in life keep coming but we keep making it through.

In the spirit of this thread.
If anyone is interested sometime next year (free)-

I’m not a guide and will also be fishing on this trip 😂.

I’ll even throw in a box of mostly jig leeches.

Let me know if anyone is interested.
Happy Holidays.

You guys are funny!
Something positive?
THIS 99.9% all-male forum may have the least number of dicks per capita on the entire internet! (Um... that didn't sound quite right, but you know what I mean!)
Seriously - you guys are awesome. Someone should study it.
Curb your tongue woman. 😉

I know it's a greater reflection of the demographics of the sport as a whole, but it'd be great if we were able to get more women involved in our community. Probably a pipedream, but maybe someday it'll happen.

My mom at 99 years 9 months passed away 5 weeks ago. What amazed me was her love of family and people . She made allowances for others and knew they could not be changed to fully please you. I have been frequently pissed off since this past year caring for mom , deeply involved aggravated with my brother and his son who was mom’s caretaker. I developed this negativity that was provoked by any probable cause. I am finally adjusting to a life of things that hurt more, acceptance of my mannerisms that are deeply ones of sensitivity and a conflicted tendency to not adapt to make peace with life. I am working on that right now since mom passed. Good luck to all. Passion in all things can be tempered if you expand that sense of self as there is room for all around you.

I recovered from an injury to be at least as good but possibly stronger. It was a little humbling and lots of work but I forged some habits for the better. Much of it mental as well as physical. I'll never be satisfied with mediocre but being realistic about your body as it ages is not a horrible thing. It let's you know you have to work harder to get the same result. Luckily I can make time for such things without the air of a gym. Apparently I'm going to be around for awhile so maintainance will be required if I'm to demand high performance. I would encourage anyone not feeling a hundred percent or impacted by an injury that effects enjoying your life to the fullest to grab the problem by the balls and do something about it. It needs not be radical. It's small incremental work that sticks for the long haul. Keep pushing, keep going, and be better today than you were yesterday. Eat clean, work hard, and milk the joy out of this short life. And don't be afraid to celebrate winning with yourself. You don't get a second body or mind. Treat it like the treasure it is because if it breaks down life can be pretty tough.
