Hey all,

So in the last few days, I've unfortunately realized, that I am probably allergic, to my fave UV Resin, Solarez, "Ultra Thin Bone Dry Plus". Total drag as I absolutely love the way it looks and acts, on Chromies and Perdigons.

I have used Sally Hanson "Hard as Nails" and its okay, but the Translucency/Pop Factor, just isn't as good as the Solarez. Ill use SHHAN, if needed but I was hoping that maybe you folks could provide some alternate recommendations/input.

Thank you in advance.

Happy Holidays.

Thanks @Mike Cline. This may work for me. Does it work with a simple UV Light like I already have or do I need to get one of those nail dryer appliances?

Don’t need anything special. I’ve been using one of these Ultra Fire UV lights for years. Have always found the one powered by 123A batteries to be the most reliable.

I find that multiple coats of SHHAN, with an overnight wait between each coat, gets very glossy.

Does this stuff last, like for years? I had a problem with the UV Loon stuff as it got crumbly and clouded after 2-3 years. Was great for making streamer heads but they fell apart.

@Zak and @SculpinSwinger,

I just finished tying some Chromies, using the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails, "Crystal Clear" product. Gotta say, I am impressed.

I did 4 coats, drying each coat overnite. This of course, adds time to completion of the flies. However, I see no difference in the completed SHHAN flies vs. the completed Solarez, Bone Dry, UV Resin, completed flies. If the SHHAN flies look and last, as long as the Solarez Bone Dry Flies, my dilemma is solved. My eyes and fingers just dont let me use the Bone Dry Resin anymore.

Thank you both so much.

Merry Christmas.
