The AI-generated country song "Walk My Walk" by Breaking Rust has topped the US Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart. The track is notable for being fully created by AI, from vocals to composition.

No need to help a pesky human with guitar

Note that it is a country song, and so...
;)

So talking to AI is like arguing with a crazy person ?

You are crazy to talk with an inanimate object. Worse than talking with your favorite person ---> me, myself and I. Who is going to win that argument?

When I argue with myself, we always come to a consensus. So, I always win.

I've been getting notices from investment companies we use warning about the increase of sophisticated AI scams, including full replication of those companies web sites, phone mail messages providing sign in code links to the false site, etc. Another target is on line banking and payment via cell phones, with a whole array of tools in play that would take paragraphs to dive into, with the highest threat from use of any open source wi-fi such as at airports, cafes, and area scanners to pick up cell and Bluetooth transmissions, etc.
We will not use our phones as payment devices, and our CC notify us real time of any charges made with them.
Be careful, guard your assets.

I don't use my phone to pay for anything but given that my bank has closed all branches within 2 hours of me I do use it to deposit checks and perform basic banking procedures. Is that something that I should also avoid doing?

Do it at your house, and nowhere else and you should be ok.
At this point, there's just about zero guarantees on things, soon to be less than zero.

The amount of financial stuff done on my phone is zero. I don't even have my bank's phone number on it. And it's going to stay that way.

AI will tell everyone they are getting highly confidential info about where and when to fish, and while 3,000 fly fishers show up at the same riffle, the robot friend of the AI will actually be at the right place, muttering with each cast 'F them obsolete skinbags'

He's at Pass. I know the point from the other side when I see it!

As many of you have noticed, AI updates to the apps we use are rolling out at a feverous pace.

Google/Gmail is now scanning our emails AND attachments. This capability is turned by DEFAULT. One can turn off this capability and 'supposedly' that works (for now)... If you have a different email provider, e.g. Proton, great! But once you send something to another person and it is Gmail, you just lost your protection.

It used to be one would train a person that could replace you so you could get promoted.

But why develop a technology that will replace you and 1/2 of your co-workers earning 6 digit incomes with great benefits so all of you can work at McDonalds? Makes no sense to me...

What makes you think there will be positions open at McDonalds?
People forget, AI is only half the equation. Combine it with robotics and see what happens.
And no, it doesn’t necessarily mean a robot as pictured above. Farm tractors, road graders, dozers, excavators have capabilities to operate with a human there in case something goes wrong. Same with self driving cars.
But it’s all in the infancy, give it 5-10 more years then yes, it could turn into a walking robot capable of more than we imagine now.

Do not forget Amazon. Amazon currently uses over one million robots globally, including autonomous mobile robots that transport shelves of goods and robotic arms that pick and pack items.

Fixed it for you

( there seems to be a trend where employers are replacing people with new hires, then expecting the released employee to stay and train them... that's moronic)
