Sink tip choice? Multi-d vs T-stuff.

I bought up a bunch of scientific anglers plain vanilla 15' type III and Type VI spey tips which were on sale and they work great with my 12-14' Sharpes bamboo spey rods. Don't think they are made any more. Scientific anglers now sells a 12' integrated spey tip which I haven't fished. The first part of the tip is type 3 and the second part of the tip is type 6. I have a guideline 15' Type 3/Type 4 tip which casts well and is great for some of the shallower cowlitz runs but not made any more. I've also used and like the 15' Rio Intouch Replacement tips which are still made.

A rant: why do the line manufacturers discontinue a line or a tip just when you get comfortable with it?

Mike Sturza at Lost Creek flies will make custom tips for you if you tell him what length and what grain weight you are looking for.

SA just came out with new Skagit tips. Not sure how they stack up to the old ones.
I've only used RIO's MOW and iMOW tips so far but I'm not a fan of the loop to loop connection with these RIO tips. I already have cracks in the welded loop and I've owned them for about 2 months.

I had that happen to the front of the head on my 200gr Commando Smooth way sooner than I expected. I cut the loop off and snelled a piece of 25lb Maxima and put a perfection loop on. Still works great.
