I've been cleaning stuff out of my house thinking about a move to simplify my life and today crawled into the back of a closet in my fly tying room. There on a bottom shelf was this collection of flies tied by the inimitable Polly Rosborough of Chiloquin OR. The display was given to me by Charlie Brooks in the early 80's after a great dinner with Charlie and his wife and way too much scotch at his house by the Box Canyon on the Henry's Fork of The Snake near West Yellowstone. This collection deserves more than sitting in the back of an old man's closet but I am unsure where it should go. Someone needs to enjoy this relic from a day gone by and one of the far west's most iconic fly tyers. It includes a Rosborough original with one of the best fly names ever, The Casual Dress,
along with his other patterns he tied for The Williamson.

Put it up for auction…proceeds to go wherever you want…

I have fished the Williamson once, many years ago…

I thought of doing that was afraid it would just end up as another trophy for somebody with too much money.

You could make it to a charitable organization for both the flies and money…whomever has the highest bid gets to chose the organization

I like the museum idea of @M_D so that it would obtain max exposure and hopefully some of the history. Are there other museums? With WWU being local, makes it intriguing IMHO.

There is also the Pacific Northwest Museum of Fly Fishing. Their website seems to be down right now but they’ve posted some cool things regarding well know local folks like Syd Glasso, Ralph Wahl, Al Knutson etc.
